Touchwiz: Love it or hate it?

Do you love Touchwiz, hate it, or don't really care?

I came from webOS. There will always be a special place in my heart for that OS. Alas, the apps and hardware are far superior with Android. So... hello!

I've been reading all about people's obsession with TW and anti-TW and could never figure out wtf it was. Thank you for finally explaining what TW is (on the 4th page of the thread).

Now that I know what TW is, I neither hate it nor love it. It's whatever. However, I am running the Bonzai ROM so I think I still have TW, but it lets me change the stuff it seems people are complaining about. Move my apps around, pick how many pages I have... so is that not TW any longer? Ha!

I don't so much as hate it as Launcher Pro Plus has so many features that TouchWiz lacks.

Agreed. Multiple customizable docks, swipe gestures, leap view, scrollable and resizeable widgets, stop me anytime. These are features that make so much sense on a touchscreen device that after you start using them, you can't remember how you ever got by without them.

Yeah... Tried launcher Pro... I thought I like it (well I did like it) until my phone randomly shutdown. When I restarted it Launcher Pro went into an endless loop of FC. There was no way to get my phone to boot up as it FCed immediately and there was no way to uninstall it. I had to wipe my phone to factory state.

There is no way I could ever recommend changing the app launcher to a casual user. Especially not Launcher Pro. If you do install an app launcher do not make it default because if it is and it starts FCing you will most likely have to wipe your phone.

BTW... I am not the only person this has happened to...

The epic is slow I had lots of problems with it my sister says she sees no difference between the epic and the evo except the keyboard

Don't know where you get the epic is slow.... Sitting side by side with my friend's evo, you cant tell the difference on how smooth they are or how fast they are...

The evo's screen may be big but it's washed out compared to the epic's.
Now that I have used the Super AMOLED display, I am spoiled and can't use anything less.

I installed launcher pro and it seemed to run sluggish. It has some really nice options to customize but im good with default touchwiz

Just purchased the Fascinate on Friday and have been reading these forums for some great tips since. Many have encouraged the downloading of LauncherPro. I was just getting the hang of changing things around with TW then decided I would really like to have the Google search so I guess I needed launcherPro to have it on my home screen. Wow! What a shock when I found so much was gone when I started using the LP. I am certain that I need to download a few more widgets to get the most out of it, but I couldn't even find my APPS button to put it on the desktop.

Pardon my "insanity" post. :) But this is all very new to me, but I am working at it. Using LauncherPro I attempt to add to the screen my options are: shortcuts, widgets, LP widgets, folders, and wallpapers. Of course there are many sub-lists. I still can't find an "application" choice under any of the lists. The only way I can find the app icon is by using the TW option.

What short cut are you trying to find??? If you you are trying to find the app drawer shortcut you wont if looking on the desktop. I think you can only add that to the docking bar on the bottom.

When I hit the home screen button I get the "complete action using" option with launcher pro or TW launcher. Not sure what selecting the number of screens has to do with it? But then again ....... not the BB I had.

Thanks for the tip. You were correct. As soon as I made a selection (pick one for my launcher) my home button displays all my apps. I love to learn all this new stuff. LOL

I was indifferent to Touchwiz until I downloaded something better. TW is uninstalled now. It actually kind of sucks.
