TouchWiz vs. STOCK

3 little things I don't like in TW:
1. 4/4 grid size at least on 5'display is very annoying :-)
2. Not be able to rename shortcuts.
3. App drawer icon unchangable position
If you get all these things smiley you live with TW comfortably :-)

P.S. in my opinion, TW runs much more better with android than Sense does, because of having menu button. This last one is always appearing on display in apps when using sense, covering working area of display...

Honestly I've only had about 5 mins or so of TW experience while waiting for VZ Customer Service. It is a lot different than stock, but I think I just really need to some time to play around with it. I like to tinker with my phone the first day I get it. Drain the battery. Try to customize as much of the phone as possible. And with the Note 3, I'm gonna play with all the S-Pen features and see how it feels. I'll probably use TW straight for about a week or 2. I should know by then if I like it or not. Then I'll probably wait for the ROM's to show. I'm sure rooting isn't going to be as easy as my GNex, but it should totally be worth it.

Here's another naysayer, at Cnet on Touchwiz:

That said, I'm quite content with my phone. I love the physical home button. I love many of Samsung's features (like the "hover" feature). I have no problem with many of the apps like Watch-on, which works flawlessly for me.

Many of them are things I can't imagine using, to be sure. Will anyone ever use Group Play more than once, just to try it out? It seems like a ridiculous plan, as opposed to just setting up a bluetooth speaker. But hey, maybe someone has a use. I also don't quite understand why they need things like S-Translate. I will say I appreciate that I could download an extra module add-on (88 megs) for specific languages and voice settings. At this point, I probably like it a bit better than Google Translate, but they are pretty close to identical programs. Similar, their notetaking program--nice enough, but hey, there's Evernote for free.

N.B. I have yet to notice any of the dreaded lag complaints. You can turn off animation in developer options.

All that said, you can pick and choose what to use and the interface for me works great.

I was just about to post that article lol.

I've used TW on my S3, I've used "stock" on my Nexus, I've used Motoblur on my Droid, and Sense on my View tablet. Each has a different set of pro's and con's, and I do appreciate some of the things that TW brings to the table. Some people like stock and hate "impure" skinned versions simply because that is the "in" thing with the hipster nerd crowd at this moment in time. With that said, I've never noticed lag on my S3.

I think that TouchWiz adds a lot of cool features to the devices but it'll slow down the machines a bit. Stock Android is nice but as long as it's optimised I'd happily use a Note 3.

Fortunately rooting is the best way to make the most out of what any OEM fails to do. There have been plenty of tweaks to turn a 4x5 into a 5x6 homescreen and app drawer so I would expect it will be so again for the GN3.

I find it ugly because it uses the gingerbread theme. However I like most of the features Samsung adds to it. Stock is still my favourite balance.

With my S6 edge the processor is powerful enough to eliminate all stutter on TouchWiz, so I prefer it over stock due to the extra feature and customization it offers.
