I love everything about the active, screen, battery life, toughness, waterproof.
Unfortunately, it is not dinosaur proof.
My 4 year old, while listening to dinosaur music, grabbed my phone and chomped down on it. He didn't crack the screen, but messed it up to the point it no longer turns on and only flashes a moment when pressing a button.

So the phone is at Sammy getting repaired in Tx and I miss it a lot. I'm on a S4 at the moment and keep checking the repair status. Anyone have an idea on the turnaround time? It arrived at the service center on Wednesday this week.

Your son must have pit bull jaws. That's crazy!

I hear another feature is that it tastes really good too!

Wow, that is insane.

Had a screen repaired on a S3 a few years ago. Turn around was less than 10 days including the weekend.

My phone is on its way back to me and Samsung was able to replace the LCD for $70, discounted from $237. I really had to plead my case to level 2 support and the repair center manager regarding no visible damage on the screen. In fact, there was a hairline crack discovered on the edge of the screen when the repair center examined it. Being that I had the phone only 2 months, I was crushed to find out the jaws of a 4 year old could crack the screen of Samsung's toughest device. So I guess the IP68 or whatever rating has nothing to do with the "toughness" or durability of the device regarding. I learned that it completely sealed to foreign bodies such as dust and dirt. It is also capable of being completely submersed in water (I've already tested it).

So I learned a lesson about Samsung Customer Support, letting kids play with phones, and what Gorilla Glass 4 can't handle. Had I paid for Asurion at 7 bucks a month, I could have had a replacement device in a few days, no questions asked. $210 over 30 months will ensure my device is protected. Throw a deductible of anywhere from $199-$149 per claim and a replacement could cost $410.
