Trade in kit

So I just got a ship notification for a trade in kit for my current phone. My pixel isn't expected to arrive until November 28th.... The quoted trade in price is only good for 30 days. Why would they ship the kit knowing this? I'm not sending my current phone in weeks before the pixel arrives...

I only remember 30 days mentioned as the amount of time you had to turn your phone in after you receive your new Pixel in order to claim your refund.

I thought it was 30 days after you receive your phone, but it turns out you have 2 weeks to return after your new phone ships:

I don't see it mentioned anywhere in the Trade In program details, nor in the shipping email (which I also received).

I was told not to worry. He made it sound as if they're taking into consideration the delayed shipping dates for the pixel. I was told to keep the kit till my new pixel arrives and send it in then. I say this all after going to the trade in status page that says you have to send in your trade in 7 days after the trade in kit arrives.

Hmm, I now get your point. It's interesting that it is conflicting.

Edit: On Reddit, I'm seeing that the Google reps are aware of this issue...

I just got the notification that my trade in kit is shipping. Luckily I'll be able to beat the 30 days though, since mine should arrive on the 18-19th, less than 2 weeks. It does seem like a crock that for those of you outside the 30 days delivery, you would maybe not get what was promised.

Here is a real question, what if you send in your trade in device b4 u get your new pixel and then for whatever reason decide to cancel, do you get your device you traded in back?? I'm not suppose to receive mine until late November
