Trade in program is this normal wear and tear?

As per Samsung if the device doesn't meet the requirements they will keep my
phone and I loose all my money.
My phone is like new with one exception the home button paint is chipping off.
Now I need your inputs.
Do you think this is normal wear and tear or excessive wear and tear

It is normal. Only cracked screens or backs, missing buttons, and loose ports count as excessive wear as do deep scratches on the screen or back, which yours seems to meet. Just in case, however, take good pictures of every side of your phone before turning it in.
