Trade In Thread

I finally got my trade in approved. I sent it in on March 9th. I got received email on the 11th. It took till today to get the accepted and complete email. This was sent to Tennessee. The last trade in I sent in went to Texas and I get the received and accepted email the same day. Oh well - it's done and everyone is happy.
Mine was delayed as well being sent to Tennessee when usually it's sent down the street in Texas. Was received March 11th and accepted and approved on the 16th.

Trade-ins were approved after some hassle. Note 20u was automatically but ipad 9.7 was not. It booted up with the connect to itunes page according to the tech even though it went to the hello screenbefore I sent it in. Chat rep had the rejection reversed.

Samsung received my note 20 ultra on Friday last week and today I got the confirmation that it's all set. I was nervous with so many issues and it being my 1st trade to Samsung but happy it's all completed.

That's great! Glad the trade-in was successful for you!

Just shipped my note10 plus and watch 4 for trade in on my s22 ultra. Never had a problem before so hopefully it will go smoothly for me this time too.

I know most of this thread is about trade-ins to Samsung, but I just traded in 2 Note10+'s to T-Mobile for 2 S22 Ultras and they used UPS. I have never had trouble with UPS, I wasn't worried and everything went as smoothly as I could have expected. If I had to rely on FedEx like many of you, I would have been extremely stressed. FedEx has screwed up just about every delivery I have ever had from them, and I always dread anything that gets shipped to me that way.

Got email on April 20th saying both trade in were successful. Thank goodness cause this time I actually forgot to take pics of the note10 plus and watch 4😂

Verizon also uses UPS.

Here's a friendly PSA and or reminder for trading in a device...

Always document the heck out of your return device to verify condition as you pack it and ship it. Take pictures/videos and put them someplace safe until the trade in goes through. Keep all receipts from FedEx/UPS/USPS for the return shipping, weight etc., and get a screenshot of the detailed tracking from shipment until delivery. If you need to contact Samsung do it sooner rather than later and try to talk to a live person ASAP. If you approach them with evidence that contradicts what their inspection sub-contractor has decided, you have a better chance of getting this resolved in your favor.

Reason for this post... Traded in my Note20 Ultra 5G on an S22 Ultra. Trade in value was $850. Received my S22U, set it up and then documented, packed up and shipped my N20U. FedEx lost the shipment for a couple days in Texas before delivery to the inspection contractor. Got email this morning that I was going to be charged $175 for a cracked screen/body. They provided a supposed link to a picture of the damage that took me to a website that displayed gibberish and wouldn't load in any browser I tried let alone display a picture. I jumped on live chat via the Samsung website and couldn't get any help by chat. I asked to talk to a live person by phone and was give a number. Got an operator who had me on the line for about 15 mins. Told them my story and that I had picture/receipt evidence to the contrary of their determination and was awarded full trade in value with email confirmation in a minute or two.

Hope this helps somebody else... Here's the phone #. Make sure you request to talk to a representative not the auto phone bot:

Feel little unfair that the trade-in amount was increased for Note 20U to $850, but the trade-in bonus for Z Fold 3 remained at $900. They should bump it up to at least $1000.

N20U trade in $950.
+ free upgrade to 256gb model.

Mother's Day special I think they were calling it for last couple of weeks??

That's a pretty sweet trade-in amount for the N20U!

Yeah, especially with the free $100 upgrade to 256gb. The Note 20 came with 12 GB so it would have felt like a downgrade getting the base 8GB model and a rip-off to have to pay $100 for what should have been the minimum RAM.

I had decided to skip the S22U because we are already in May and can wait for the S23 and my Note 20U is just rocking perfect. But I figured this is kind of like a no lose situation...

It cost me only $250 to upgrade. And if I did wait until next year they would probably cap my trade-in on the Note 20 to $750?? While they would probably offer $1,000 for an S22 Ultra?? So I if I did use it as a trade in next year it would be close to an even wash. But most likely I'll keep this phone for a couple of years.

Yes, it is. I'm going to jump on this too. I was never really in love with my N20U, so not hard to see it go. Solid phone and all though.

I bought two phones from Samsung direct. Sending in my trade in. They get it very quickly. However they take forever to look over it and let you know anything so don't expect it to be speedy. You think it's going to be because they get it so fast but it's not. I bought my phone the end of February I got the new phone the 10th of April I only just got word on my trade in which was fine but still they take their sweet time for some reason.

I'm glad your trade-in was accepted. That's always a relief.
:)

This time was the fastest trade in experience I've had with Samsung so far. Traded in 2 note 20 ultras on 2 separate orders. They received the trade ins within 3 days and issued the full 950 credit each the following day.

My trade-in was a Z Fold 3. They received it pretty quickly but took a few days for them to tell me that they're charging me back $105 because of a cracked camera lens. I took pictures of the phone prior to packing it and the lens actually has a lens protector cover. So, they must have mistaken the protector for the lens itself. Anyway, I called customer service and they reversed the chargeback.

This also happened when I traded in an iPad Pro 11 for the Tab S8 Ultra in Feb. They told me that I didn't trade in an iPad Pro but the pics they attached clearly showed it was. I also had to call customer service then for the chargeback to be reversed.

I sent out my S21 Ultra yesterday and I used the box and packaging that my S22 Ultra came in. It's scheduled to arrive in Texas on Friday.

Are you happy with the new phone and that you upgraded? Sorry trying to decide so I came to the 22 ultra threads to read. I figured for a 1000 and a 100 in accessories why not trade the latest. Is it that much nicer. I love the colors.

Sorry I know this topic is about trade ins but I've heard horror stories before it scares me that's why I used to like going to Best Buy. I sent in a watch for trade in and they tried telling me it wasn't the right one that I didn't send them back an active 2 when I did and I took pictures also. They showed me a picture of a different watch and said that's what I sent in and I raised heck and got the credit
