So far this is a dope phone. I dare say it does feel alot smoother as well. So far the only thing I miss is bixby and samsung pay.

This has me torn between the note 8 and the v30 whichbare bith coming out soon

Any must knows about the g6 that i may have missed while tinker around the settings menu.

The biggest thing I missed going from the s8 Plus to the G6 was One Handed Mode. Why they removed that feature since previous phones is beyond me now the screen is taller than ever now

Welcome

You are not the first person to say this phone is 'relatively' smoother than the S8.

Hope you enjoy.

You have the option to add the notification pull down button to your nav bar, so you don't have to reach all the way to the top
Additionally, the Google keyboard has one handed mode.

Yeah but that's something completely different and doesn't help reach menu buttons etc at the top of pages where many browsers and apps still put them when though phones are only getting taller. This screenshot is what I'm talking about. LG employed the feature before the G6 and swiping across the navigation buttons at the bottom activated it. It was great so I don't understand why they discontinued it? Some apps and browsers are aware of the problem and started putting menus and buttons at the bottom of the page instead

Yeah, I remember that feature. They probably thought that a narrower screen solved that problem, but then actually messed it up by making the screen taller.

1st world problems eh? Lol. Not a deal breaker for me but definitely nice to have.

Welcome to G6... I brought it at launch and must say 1 of the best devices of 2017..totally love my G6

I've been offered a G6 as a straight swap for my regular sized s8 and I'm really tempted. I jumped from the s8 Plus to my last G6 and mostly loved it but I know I regretted a few little things like the poor low light camera (motion blur)on the G6, the front camera and the lack of wireless charging as I keep my phone on a wireless charging stand next to my bed at night as an alarm clock type thing. I dunno what to do. I can't even ask my wife as she'll murder me lol

Bro G6 has wireless charging

Not here in the UK it doesn't. We get no DAC, no wireless charging and only 32gb storage.... but we will probably pay more for less features

I still don't get how Lg can release the g6 in the Uk without any added functions and expect you guys to pay full price 0.0 (if it's not higher than the u.s price ofc). I didn't use the one handed mode on my s8+ so i don't really know how useful it really is for you guys,i think i might have bigger hands than i thought, i can easily grab the g6 and mess around with one hand lol. I'd keep my s8 if i was you though, not much that's attractive about the g6 on your side sadly =/

I think you're right, I'll probably hold off for now and wait for the V30 since it's not far away and it looks to be a bigger, higher spec'd G6 anyway

That's lame that the UK G6 doesn't have wireless charging. I'm honestly just glad to be back to a LCD display. I have never been a huge fan of the AMOLED displays. They look nice but I enjoy the more natural look of LCD. The smart features for LG are so much better. I don't need to go through the task of setting up Tasker on my phone.

The one thing wish LG would do is put the option to hide the navigation bar on every screen. Samsung implemented that and it was awesome, you get the full screen on everything.

It's funny you mention that as I've just been Googling it to see if LG had sorted out in an update yet. It was a nice surprise when I came back to the s8 to see the nav bar could be swiped away now and made transparent at will.

Enable developer mode and disable animation scales if you want the fastest OS experience.

You can hide the notification bar in the settings while on certain apps. Settings > Display > Home Touch Buttons > Hide Home Touch Buttons

I keep them on though because it gets annoying trying to swipe up to see the buttons.

I agree with you on the LCD display, at first I preferred AMOLED but after using LCD again, I really like it. When you tilt the AMOLED screen you can see the white color change to bluish green and it's annoying. Also, I feel comfortable leaving the screen on for hours while using Google Maps for example.

Not everyone has that option in the display settings, i for one don't only for the colors and which button i want in that nav bar.
