Traded my note 5 for the 6p..

Not that my 6p is rooted but I have that option if I feel the need to go that route. Although, this is my first Android phone without root and I find myself not needing root.

Nexus Six P

I ditched my iPhone 6s Plus for a Note 5 which I loved but the performance lag throughout the day and the need to reboot it to speed it back up coupled with annoying bloatware made me want a pure Android experience but at the time the only option was the Nexus 6 which lacked in the photography/camera department which is my top requirement in a phone. After the 6p was announced and reviews came out I scooped one up and I'm absolutely in love with it. Regardless of the perceived flaws I had with the Note I never wished to go back to iOS and I had every iPhone since the very first EDGE model. Now my wife has my Note 5 since it allows her to do things for her job that her iPhone would not.

Kicking around the idea of dumping the note 4 for the 6p. It's got me intrigued. Just waiting on best buy to get the back in Stock online. Probably gonna do the 64 gb model

Was apprehensive about losing the note 5 but I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. All the flattering reviews were bang on. Mostly I'm impressed with the battery life so far and the camera has yet to disappoint. If you use the spen a lot you might find yourself reaching for it. I was worried that it would be too big, and even with slim case it's very manageable. Only thing I find myself missing is the multi screen features. I really hope we see Google implement this in the next update. Cheers.

Now that you've made the move to the 6P you too can have a good chuckle at how mad the same 3 or 4 Note 5 fans who keep popping up in AC's news articles get about the praise the 6p receives . It's quite entertaining! :D

Now ya'll have me wondering and thinking about this ...

I currently have a Rooted Note 3 that I absolutely adore ... I've spent the last few months customizing it (with Root) and it's fast and the battery is awesome ... I can live without the S Pen option. What I don't like is that I can't get any updates or security patches.

I'm currently with AT&T - Hubby is with Verizon. He gets an employee discount so we're thinking of combining both accounts on Verizon ... Will the 6P work on either / or ? I'm thinking of getting one before we make the shift next year - Can I use it for a few months on AT&T and then switch to Verizon? My current Note 3 will not work on Verizon .

Is there ANY way to do Wireless Charging? I've just set my self up with that and would hate to lose it ...

Have I read this correctly that "IF" I decide I want to - I Can root the Nexus 6P ?

The 6P works on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile.. the lot. No compatibility issues. All you do is pop in a SIM and off you go (even Verizon officially allows it now). If you switch to AT&T, pop in an AT&T SIM... easy as that.

No wireless charging. Metal body eliminates the option... not sure if anyone is going to make a Qi case for it, but I'd assum that would add a fair amount of bulk to the thing.

You can do whatever you want to the 6P. The bootloader can be unlocked with a simple command (Google provides it, so it's not like they don't want you fussing with it). You can root it, load a custom recovery, load up custom builds of Android... everything is available. There is a version of the root method that even preserves your ability to use Android Pay.

As previously stated, there is no wireless charging BUT the new USB-C charging cable is so easy to use and sort of snaps into place in such a satisfying way. Plus you get fast charging which is not available in any current wireless charging technology. After a week, you probably won't even care.
