What are your thoughts on both ? Likes and dislikes ? I'm not having any issues at all with my G4 but just kind of want to try something else. Anyone who has swapped for a S6 or vice versa anyone who came from an S6 what are your thoughts ? Thanks!

Edit: ignore the title. I'm not trading a fried G4.. Trading a friend my G4 lol

LOL... he is not lying... you may not like the battery life or the size. No MicroSD either.

Had the S6 Edge (well 2 of them) for 2 weeks. I falsely thought that AMOLED screens had improved in the past 5 years but the S6 flagship took 4 days to develop burn-in.

I brought it back and got the non edge version and 4-5 days later.. Burn-in and ghosting. Hate to see what a month would have done to it.

Now, if you're one if those people who cry to mommy if the screen brightness is higher than 11%, your burn-in will take longer, but it will happen. Comes with the territory.

I was at bestbuy yesterday and the guy at the counter was adamant about how i was wrong (in front of everyone). So I had to own him. I told him to go to every AMOLED phone on display in his store and fire up a white page. Sure enough severe burn-in on eveything from a cheap Samsung all the way up to the S6 edge. On the upside, he is now educated in the filthy little AMOLED problem that nobody wants to admit or even talk about.

If you want a screen that doesnt degrade and a screen that you can hit 100% brightness outside without scraping the phone, go with an LED IPS screen.

Also had both. Battery life coupled with nonreplaceable battery made the S6 awful for me. Camera was good, but I swear you could just look at the S6 and watch the battery drain. G4 battery isnt amazing, but def better and replacing it takes 30 seconds to put in a full battery, rather than waiting for S6 to charge. Also attended a concert this weekend... Used the G4 manual settings, and have gotteb questioned if the pics i took were mine or professional. Never had that before. So, in short, lol....G4 by a landslide.

Well fortunately we agreed that if I wasn't fond of the s6 we could trade back. We both just kind of wanted to try something else out.

I don't really have the greatest of battery life with my g4 but having the replaceable battery and external charger has been nice. We shall see how things go.

Didn't like it. Already traded back. G4 FTW.

Figured you would. ..lol

The G4 is a great phone, but those regular s6's need a lot of tweaking.

If you get a chance to try a S6 Active you will find it a totally different experience. I know I'm really happy with mine coming from the G4

It's funny just because they promote like crazy and all everyone thinks that Samsung is the go to company for Android.

Are they wrong, recently had a company dinner and everyone literally was in shock on how well our indoor photos came out. They have S6 and iPhones and agreed the G4 took better photos. Honestly everyone asked what phone did I have.

On top of that Ive blocked / disabled a few apps and this phone really flies.

What is so much better on the Active? I have to admit, I'm intrigued by it myself. I'm really wantiong to try one.

Now this is just my humble opinion and how mine is setup and carrier ....so

The battery for starts. I'm averaging 8-10 hours screen time with moderate usage.

The rear speaker....surprisingly louder and clearer than the bottom firing s6.

Speed....much improved and faster than most s6 variants.

0% lag, even after being on for 30 hours.

0% screen sensitivity issues

IPh 68 military rated ...water/dust/shock/radiation /temperature proof.

Physical buttons with the extra activity button.

Rugged external case

Now it's funny how dead set against the lack of non removable battery and no SD card I was, but since the battery in this one is huge and I am using a micro USB flash drive for all of my photos video movies and music ,while it's a small hassle, it's perfectly doable and works great .

I don't have a problem with a good plastic phone, but I do have with a phone that is easily scratched dented or cracked and waterlogged . If I had more than 1 daily driver at a time, I most likely would have a regular s6 to use as well,as well as another G4.....but I don't and in the end went with the Active because of this. Having to worry about getting a case for it and then finding out that it got tons of microscatches all over it from dust getting inside the case isn't fun either.

To me, for my lifestyle the Active is just a better fit. It doesn't have the great pro mode as the G4 has but it has everything the s6 variants has and more, and eventually the better controls too via the updates.

I really loved my g4 till it developed a antenna issue, but I have grown to love the Active for it's ruggedness and everything it offers too. The Touch Wiz today while certainly not perfect is light years ahead of where it was at 2 years ago, and since I have a Samsung theme on mine and Nova Prime it is better than any other skin for looks and feel.

This is what I feel makes the Active a better and vastly different experience.

Hop that helps.

No burn in or ghosting problems on my note 4 or s6e.

Glad you switched back.

I had two S6 Edge versions. I originally purchased the 32 gig. Battery life was horrible. Just horrible.

I was impatient and swapped it out for a 64 gig. I figured, as long as I'm here exchanging why not opt for more memory.

Clearly the battery life was not useful for someone who is never in their office like me.

The lag was unbearable after the last of update. So I switched it out for a Note 4 Edge. Decent phone, same lag with that same update.

G4 had been awesome so far.
