Traditional typing vs swiping

I like to swipe. Right now I'm using SwiftKey, but I've used Gboard in the past.

What is your preference, and what keyboard app do you use?

I'm still using the original Swype. It sucks that it's no longer in the Play store, because it was always the most accurate and I love the ability to capitalize a word by swiping up from the first letter. Swiping is much easier than tapping out a word.

I used to be a big Swiftkey user. Still have it installed but drifting towards Gboard now. Swipping on Gboard is much more accurate.

thanks for all the comments and feedback everyone! I've been traditionally typing but swiping so much faster and easier and efficient!! I'm going to force myself to get used to it now. How many people here voice type on their phones? I do that especially when driving.

I try to get use to swipe texting , but revert to text typing or voice text .

I've seen a couple questions like this one that would benefit from a sort of Poll function in forums. I wonder if there's a way to embed a poll from a link or something.

Gboard and swiping, much more efficient specially for multi language.
Yeah i agree. It's faster, more efficient, and just as accurate. You just have to force yourself to get used to it, that's for sure.

I was thinking the same thing. A polling type of question would be even better.

Well that's what had happened to me in the past, unfortunately. I'm forcing myself this time around to get used to it. It's definitely takes time though haha

I tried to swipe type and realized I sucked at it. So either traditional or voice dictation works very well for me. I think G board is a very solid and well thought out keyboard

Honestly, once you start getting used to swiping, it does become a little bit easier. There is a learning curve though that's for sure. I'm definitely slower traditionally typing which means I really heavily on voice typing, il or the keyboard predictive text. That means I've also had to get used to the fact of proofreading everything message I send out because sometimes they don't make sense. I find myself having to proofread a little less with swipe. Voice tying works wonders in the car with Android auto, it when I still feel like I say don't want to type or swipe.

Yeah I need more practice with it lol
Trust me, I'm still practicing with it myself. I'll be honest, it also helps when the screen of your phone is a little sick with fingerprint, because that helps you glide a lot, faster.

Hopefully I can master it one day lol
Because I type faster then keyboard spits out the letters lol

Yeah and as I say that, I might still go back to traditionally typing on my phone. I'm just so damn used to it. Lol ok I I just went back. It is really hard and weird to try and get used to it. I'll always rely heavily on Google predictions that's for sure. Oh well.. thought I'd give it a shot again...
