So last night I was drunk and dropped my Evo Shift in the ter whilst pissin'.

Bummer. :(

Then this morning whilst hungover I went to plug my OV into the charger and put it in backwards which broke the main pin on the phone.

I am now without an android device for at least a month until after my wedding.

I'm gonna use my old iPhone 3GS but that sucks becuase it's the 8 GB version. :(

Any suggestions for a new phone besides the OV for after I get a ton of cash from wedding gifts?

oh man, so many times I almost did something horrible to my phone while drinking.

hasnt happened yet though. :D

what carrier do you plan to use for the new phone? if sticking to VM, you cant go wrong with the Triumph, as long as your willing to put CM7 or MIUI on it before considering it for daily use. the stock rom is garbage

other than that, theres way too many "good" phones on different carriers to suggest any. only advice I can give is to worry less about the actual phone, and start looking at the long term cost of owning that phone (service, monthly charges, bills, contracts) and see what you will pay for owning the phone for a year or two on different carriers, than choose from the phones that fall in your acceptable range.

I might stick with VM but I was also looking at MetroPCS... I'm a no-contract kind of guy.

I've never liked any of the metroPCS android phones, but ive only known their service coverage and the phones they sell in the LA area.

over here they have no 3G coverage, and for awhile, no 4G phones.

looking at their current line up, looks like the LG Esteem is the highest end phone. about as specced as the Triumph. but comes with 2.3 stock. thats good.

the only phones i used from them are the Huawei Ascend ( -___- ) and the Samsung Admire. that one was nice.

Dude, don't do Metro. Please.
I had them in Florida, back when they were only in like 5 states. They were horrible. And they still are xD i mean, they've gotten better since then, but they still aren't good. Stick with VM or check out Tmo's Monthly4G no contract plans.

You should look into SIMple Mobile if you get T-Mobile service: no-contract, $40 per month, unlimited everything...
You just buy a sim from them and stick it in any GSM phone...
The only reason why I'm on VM instead is because in our rural area there's no T-Mobile service
