TRANSFER APPS, PHOTO,ALL to NEW INSPIRE FROM SHATTERED INSPIRE

Someone with meticulous phone savy PLEASE help a little ol' southern girl with no idea what she's doing...

Ok, so I dropped my beloved inspire 6 inches... and it shattered... I fought at&t and after 6 hours they sent me a shiny new Inspire with no sim or SDcard.....

That is fine, but how can I transfer ALL of my info....not contacts so much as the work I have done on apps, my pics, and games I have dedicated so much of my precious time to. ( we're talking 3 stars on almost every level of angry birds!... heh..heh..heh..)

No, seriously, I have logged hours of tarot work, blog essays that need to be edited... and such...

Can I just switch over the SD and sim or do I need to do some super technical maneuvers I am not qualified for?

Thanks for taking your time to help... and please understand I am literally jacky wacky from waiting in line & on the phone w/ the devil... a mean At&t... with still no answers.... 3 hours... just today... just for one tiny answer.

As for your photos they will be on you micro SD. So switch over your sim and sd. As for your apps I think you have to download them but I could be wrong.

Also you might was to invest in a otterbox defender case. I've got my inspire wrapped in one and they are worth the money.

So the screen is shattered. Does it still work and can you seen the screen enough to do anything on it?

you can just switch your cards for most things. Also if you used htc sync and sync to google, etc., it will all resync when you set up the new phone and enter your password info

With Titanium Backup you could backup apps and data to the sd card. After transfering the card to the new phone and installing TB on to it, you could restore apps and data to it. You would end up losing none of that, but your busted phone needs to still be usable.

I recently restored my phone to factory condition...and at first I was nervous because it looked like I had lost everything...but little by little as I started logging into stuff all my apps from The Android Market started installing by themselves, The ones from The Amazon Appstore where in the app store so I just re installed them...the only ones that were not backed up where the ones I "sideloaded"
...besides that it seems everything is back to normal (and your pictures and music, since typically everyone has it on their micro sd should transfer over to your new phone as long as you put your old sd into the new phone)


in an unrelated question, I recently did a factory reset on my phone, and now in my Messages (text) when I send a text and receive with someone, my sent text says "Me: (and whatever i send)" but when the person texts me their message is "John Doe (M 3232341234): (whatever they send"

Does anyone know how to hide their number and have just their name appear like it used to before?

Ok, really weird, mine is doing the same thing now. It wasn't showing that way before and I haven't done a factory reset. I even have some older message threads that still just show the name only. Anything from the past couple of days shows name and number. If it is an older thread with a recent message, it converts it to show name and number.

Yeah thats weird...all my other friends that have HTC and are using Froyo just have the names...no number ...I think its a setting or something but what setting! haha

I received a text a while ago from a different contact, no number showing. At this point the only pattern I'm seeing is if it is a text from someone in my contacts that is linked to a facebook account, it shows the name and number. With anyone else it just shows the name.
