Transfer sync apps etc from sg 3 tab 8 to sg A

I just got new tab A for Christmas I use tab 8. I have in past dome fdr and been able to restore my sync apps etc but when startint tab a ot does not. What am I missing, how do I do this? Tech support]ort was no help.
