Anybody have an easy way to transfer contacts from a Nokia 1020 to the Note 3? Store could not do it with the machine they had

Are your contacts on the Nokia synced to Outlook on your computer, or some other Windows contact program? If so, then see if you can export those contacts to a .csv file, then import them to Google Contacts:

1. Open Gmail on your desktop browser.
2. Click on the Gmail dropdown at the upper left, and select Contacts.
3. Click on the More button, and select Import.
4. Import the .csv file that you just exported.
5. After the contacts have been imported to Google, they should sync automatically with any of your Android devices that are linked to that Google account.

I don't see how to get my contacts list from my nokia into gmail. I think once they are in gmail I might be able to get them into the new phone

Can you sync your Nokia with a Windows desktop or laptop? Because then you should be able to export your contacts from your desktop program, presumably Outlook.

You should be able to sync your Windows Phone to Windows Contacts, which is the basic Windows address book program. See this support page for information; Sync music, pictures, contacts, and calendars with a mobile device

If you're able to sync your contacts to your computer this way, then open Windows Contacts on your computer and see if there is an option to export all contacts to a .csv file. Then import to your Google account as previously described.

Great! Can you give us a quick summary of what you did, to help anyone else having the same issue?

Best way is go to the store you bought your phone they have a little machine and it take 3 minutes and all is done! it will not show like on the sim card but just like on your phone!
