how do i transfer pictures from my camera memory card to my tablet. I have got a 5 in 1 memory card reader.
I am a new user and am still learning this device

30 pin to USB adapter. Samsung sells them (if you can find them in the stores or order one) or you can get a "knockoff" for about $4 on eBay. With the Samsung, you can either get one 30 pin to USB or 30 pin to SD card. With the USB, you can either use a thumb drive or a card reader that will hold your camera card. There is also one out there that has a USB port and a 30 pin port so you can have USB connection and charging at the same time.

I have 2 of the "knockoff" and both worked fine UNTIL I updated to 4.1.1 and then the thumb drives no longer worked properly. Got the Tab 2 to read SDHC cards and it will read the wireless mouse OK. Not sure why it won't do thumb drives anymore as it worked flawlessly before the 4.1.1 update.

I upload mine to the MicroSD card and then used to make a backup copy to a thumbdrive for a double backup but now I just do the second backup to another/different SDHC card instead of a thumb drive. I also use Quickpic as my picture viewer. Faster, simpler and free. Can't beat free.

Adapters are the simplest way, although depending on what kind of camera you have, you can connect the camera direct to the tablet through USB but if you have a lot of pics and not much battery left on the camera, if you run out of battery, this can be a problem. Also, some of the software that cameras want to have to do the transfer "might not work" with the tablet.

This doesn't tell me what I do after I put the card reader with the sd card inserted into the slot at the bottom of the tablet. Also how do I set up a folder in the gallery to put the pictures in. I am really new at this. Thank you.

I too cannot get the 4 in 1 connector kit for Galaxy Tab to work. When I plug it into to 30 plug connector it blinks green, when I insert the sdcard it blinks red and my notifications say USB connected, but as it blinks red it disconnects. The directions say to go to my files/storage/root but that does not exist. What is happening and does no one have an answer? This is a samsung product, did I just get ripped off with my first samsung product?

I would just use Wifi Transfer. It's a great app that you can install on your phone and tablet that will let you transfer wirelessly on the same Wi-Fi network. Worth the cheap purchase price and a lot less of a hassle than cables.

Jincop, the instructions tell you to insert the card/USB into the adaptor BEFORE plugging the adaptor into the tablet. Perhaps this is what caused your problem.

This is the best way to do it just found out at 18-30 pm 24 Aug 2013
Download QuickPic this is the best pro for viewing pic's from your albums, memory sticks and Cards just click on the installed program and it will find all your pic's
Then make folder and transfer easy when you have used it a few times it is a lot better than the method that I used below

This is the way I found out how to put photo's from m/card to tablet.
1 Turn tablet on. Then insert insert m/card into adaptor and insert into tablet
2 Then on desktop click on My Files, then click on all files then under storage, click on USB Drive A
3 Then click on DCIM then the folder that your photo's are in.
4 Then select 5 Photo's and email them to yourself ( select file size first)
5 When you get your email download the Photo's and these wil go into the Download folder in My Files
6 Then go to the Galery and there will be an icon called download with the photo' you emailed and downloaded click on the Icon to view photo's
7 then click on the add folder Icon and add and name a new folder, then just drag and drop your photo's into the folder you made, or into any other folder, it' a long drawn out process but works if you have plenty of time

I have a $10 USB hub that I got off eBay, it has a card reader in it as well as 3 USB ports and a couple other ports (can't think of them atm) but its plug and play with my tab, works like a charm.

Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou!... was trying so many dif things. Found the 'non' Samsung connectors didn't work and went and brought a samsung one and the QuickPic works a treat! We just couldn't work out the storage from the card once inserted and I leave for holiday tomorrow. So many thank Gerald for your tip!

Am also a new user. Have managed to transfer my 1000(!!) photos to my tablet but can only seem to save them one at a time. I there a way to select all?

The best way to share photo between phone tablet and pc is dropbox.
Open a dropbox account
Install the dropbox app on your phone
Enable automatic camera upload
Install dropbox on your tablet
Instantly view pictures you've taken with your phone on your tablet
