My 200 GB Sandisk card just arrived, and I'm wondering what the best way to get data moved from my existing card to the new card is. I've got the S7, with some apps installed on the existing SD card, as well as pictures, data, etc. Is it as simple as doing a copy & paste?
If you can give a detailed description of the steps to take I'd appreciate it - I'm fairly tech illiterate.

You can use my files app, pictures should be easy. Apps I am not sure

You might have to install the apps again that you had moved to your old SD card.

OK, I copied the 'old' SD card to my desktop and then dragged and dropped it onto the new SD card. So far everything seems to be working fine.
BUT, when I look at the file structure of the new card, the 'root' directory contains the folders 'Android', 'LOST.DIR', and 'SD-MMC'.
When I open 'SD-MMC' it contains many folders, INCLUDING another 'Android' and 'LOST.DIR' folder.
Should I somehow replace the root directory's 'Android' and 'LOST.DIR' folders with those same folders from the 'SD-MMC' folder? As I think about it, I should probably be moving every folder and file from the SD-MMC folder into my 'root' directory, right? Which would replace the Android and LOST.DIR folders that are currently in the root. Right?

Well, I managed to figure things out, eventually. And learned a bit about moving files and folders in the Android OS. So far everything seems to be working smoothly - and the 200GB card should be able to handle whatever I might throw at it.

I'm about to do this as my phone is now freezing and all sorts of problems and i think because the sd is getting full.... is there anything i need to know please?;)

I put my old card in a USB card reader, then plugged that into the phone via the OTG adapter that came with the S7. Then used the built in file manager to copy files onto the new card. No PC required.
