transferring data to new phone

I'll ask here before starting a new thread, but if I transfer via smartswitch does my call logs and blocked numbers also get transferred over, or do I have to set those back up manually? I've gotten so many robo and telemarketing calls over the last few months alone, I'd hate to have to screen calls one at a time again.

I think this only ports over if you use SS and let it bring all compatible phone settings (I believe it may also partly depend on what you are moving from) I usually do a custom restore (I prefer to do most of my settings as a clean setup on a new device) when i went Note 7 to Note 7 i just did a full dump & restore.

Cheers,

As many have already mentioned, Smart Switch is a good choice. I've used it several times and it's ok.

Can you pick & choose the items that can be transferred using Smart Switch or is it an all or nothing deal?

I Believe you can select what you bring over based on categories like contacts, messages, pictures and calendar. I don't believe you can do it individually, like John Doe contact and January's calendar, and Specific photos. This is my first Samsung to samsung device though so I could be wrong. when I switched from my BlackBerry to my S7E I used a combination of a BB content transfer app and the AT&T transfer app. That was all after 3 Note7s . For me that was such a headache So this time I'm taking my Time and probably going to use a combo of Smart switch and just moving my SD card over I didn't realize I had so many apps until now !

I have a ton of apps on the Pixel XL that I don't want on my Note and also on the old Lg G3 I am currently using so I think I'll just restore the google stuff from google and do the apps one at a time.
You can also select what you want restored and also deselect certain apps you don't want restored. It's not all or nothing.
