Transferring movies??

You should be able to hook up your GT+ to your PC via the USB cord, and then use standard copy and paste, the PC will see the Tab as a flash drive.

No problemo :) Feel free to PM or email me if you have any more questions. :) pkcable(at)crackberry.com

Hi, I'm new to the samsung tab, and have questions along the same lines.
Should I make a subdirectory on my external card for my movies, and does it matter if I call it videos or movies?

Question 2, I am running kies, and it keeps putting my movies under the photos directory on my card. Any way to tell it where they go? I am using the transfer option.

Thanks in advance.

I don't use Kies, BUT yes I would imagine there is a way to change the default settings. Look for a menu called Settings, Options, or Properties. The setting would be default save directory, or something along those lines. The Video player on your Tab should find the movies no matter WHERE they are, BUT I am a proponent of using directories for housekeeping. Videos or Movies would be equally good in my opinion. :)

I am currently using the troublesome method take out the sd card, mount it to card reader and copy my movie files.. seems like my mac do not detect my tab.. Normally if i connect my tab, kies will come out, i dont like using kies and prefer the old copy paste drag mode.. is there any setting at the tab so that i dont have to use kies?

Rich,
Thanks for the response. So far I haven't found a way to make Kies change destination. I certainly never told it to go to photos.

I hate Kies. It only occasionly connects to my tab. I think they actually mis-spelled the name. I believe they meant to call it Dies.:D

However, the videos I were trying to load were "organized" by itunes, each in its own subdirectory, so it would have been a pain to transfer by just dragging each one to the sd card. Kies finds all your videos, and then you can just check off the ones you want and go away while it does the transfer. Nice when it works.

I also finally figured one really annoying feature of XP. Whenever I plugged the tab into the usb port, XP would ding about once every 5 seconds. Turns out it went away when I used a rear-panel usb port. I think windows was trying to tell me the tab was drawing too much power, because the front panel port was hub port. It also ran 10 time faster on the rear port.

I found a really easy way to transfer my files from my phone sd card to my tablet using wifi transfer pro I can't believe how fast it downloaded some really big files so you can download wifi transfer onto your tab, open the URL in your computer browser so not only can you copy stuff from your tab to any device you can also upload files from your computer to your tab or share files with other devices on your network from the URL. You don't even have to connect any cables just be connected to same network. They have free versions but there's a smaller size limit and I think the app was only $1. Hope this helps.
