Droid-Life thinks so.

New ASUS Transformer 2 Available November 7th? - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

Personally, I'm not overly moved one way or the other about a TF2. Other than the inability to playback the 1080p videos that my Droid3 makes, there really isn't anything I want the first TF to do that it can't do.

Maybe in another 6 months I will entertain the idea of updating, if/when games actually require more hp.

I'm very much looking forward to this tablet. Tegra3 and ICS are a major improvement, but I hope they give it a better screen and different look to it. The ugly brown color and cheap feel of the original needs to be done away with. I'd love to wait for the next Galaxy Tab, but who knows how long until we'll see that.

I'm neutral on the look/feel. I could take it or leave it. But the new one better click into the current keyboard dock.

Right now the two popular thoughts around the web are: Kal El processor and $500 price.

I think that the best deal going might be an original TF if they drop the price when the sequel comes out. just hoping Asus keeps up the prompt updates and gives us ICS quickly.

It was shown off to Walt Mossberg at all things D just a lil bit ago.
Will have quad core Nvidia Kal-El.
8mm thick.

Announce date is November 9 2011.

*Edit* added release/annouce date

Considering that the TF came out just a few months ago, I'm not all that excited about the new one coming out. These things just upgrade too fast. I might just wait for the third generation or just get a Windows 8 tablet when they come out. Those would be pretty awesome if they can run normal MS programs and games.

Supposedly the ICS update wil come before the end of they year. I guess that's within a few months.

The current Transformer was available in April. I bought one about a month ago to see how my family would utilize one. With two kids, I'm looking for a second. As long as the price isn't too bad, I'll be getting gen 2 of the Transformer.

newbie here, wondering what ICS stands for? Just got my transformer last week and love it. got it from best buy, so if ASUS puts out a new one within six months, i basically can exchange it for free. So is this saying that the new one is coming out early Nov, or that the release date will be announced then? thanks.

I?m mixed overall for a number of reasons. In no particular order.

1. My current TF (and my Droid 3) works just fine and I already have a backlog of games that I?ll likely not get through for a year. The thing literally just keeps dumping new game options on me every day?

2.It plays Netflix streaming just fine and does Skype video calling without too much hassle. Those were my two main desires.

3. The new one likely won?t dock with the old keyboard? boo?.

4. I too am intrigued with what Win 8 on a tablet will be. That said, I currently prefer to use android over win 7 when I have the option, and when I do use my desktop I am constantly reminded how unnecessarily complicated and obtuse it has become. Can win 8 really fall *that* far from the MS tree?

5. I?d really like to have a 8-9? size tab too for times when using the 10? TF is a little over sized (holding the TF in landscape mode for an extended period of time while playing a game can be tiring.

6. I really don?t care about how thin these things are. The HP Touchpad would have been ok (thickness-wise) and that thing is a bloated hippo in comparison.

turnbuckle316smd - How can you exchange within six months? Got mine about two months ago from Best Buy and would jump on this if I could. Details?

Is anyone else excited about this? I definitely am. I've been waiting for a good tablet and now that they have quad cores?! No reason for me to keep waiting for a "perfect" tablet. Are we still considering this a rumored device? Where's the Transformer Prime section?

BB offer a program where a customer can exchange a product within a specific time frame and receive a credit towards the purchase of the new item.
i.e if exchanged within six months, 50% of the original cost is applied towards the new purchase. I believe the cost is $50 at time of original purchase(depending of the cost of the original items..could be more expensive for higher cost items)..."See store for more details!"

They have buy back program you can pay 30 for when you purchase at bestbuy. But they also have a program in place that promises ifsomething new by same manufacturer comes out within six months of purchase, you can exchnge and only pay difference. Id check with bestbuy to get full details.
