Transformer 2 early November?

"The Eee Pad Transformer Prime is coming. We bring you the next transformation in tablet technology, one that is better than its predecessor in every aspect.

Our latest offering is faster, stronger, slimmer, and of course, sexier. We strived to break free from the normal constraints of a device through constant innovation, and the result is the Eee Pad Transformer Prime."
Prime is coming

**** Yeah!!

I think that the best deal going might be an original TF if they drop the price when the sequel comes out. just hoping Asus keeps up the prompt updates and gives us ICS quickly.

Overstock.com has the 32GB Transformer for $399 right now, which is not too shabby.

hi, am actually considering buying the eepad transformer, however, learned that T2 will be coming out in Nov9..now i'm torn if buy the former or wait for the latest version..i'm concerned that since honeycomb 3.2 was going to be the last update, maybe transformer running in honeycomb 3.0/3.1 will no longer have a future. =( hope to hear your thoughts with regards my concern.

thanks!

To wait or not tis up to you to decide. I can say this though, Asus has already said that the current Transformer will get Ice Cream Sandwich, so Honeycomb 3.2 will not be the last update for it.

hey, end! is it safe to say that 3.2 honeycomb can be updated to ICS (android 4.0) in the future?
i really want to buy the eepad already, that's the only concern that's holding me back right now.

thanks much for your inputs!

Asus has stated on their Twitter page that the Transformer will get ICS.

:)

Yea there is no telling when the t2 will come out. The only news so far is that it will be revealed on nov 9. But that's not necesarily the release. Just showing it

I would guess that availability would be shortly after announcement.

Why would a company be in such a hurry to *announce* a new version (that will kill sales of your currently very competitive tablet) yet if they didn?t intend to have it available for the Christmas buying season?

No one else has made mention of releasing a Kal El based tablet yet either, so it isn't like they are trying to keep up with any other company's announcements.

@Suntan - why shouldn't they? They need to keep their existing customers happy. The TF2 is more of a hardware upgrade than anything else. The TF will still be an excellent tablet, even if it has "just" two cores.

Why shouldn't they what? Announce a new tablet and then wait months to actually release it?

My comment was to say that it doesn't make sense for ASUS to *announce* the new tablet but then not release it for an extended period of time.

HP did that with their Touchpad/Pre 3 phones. They announced them last spring but didn't release them until close to fall. How'd that turn out for webOS users?

I agree with Suntan here. Technology now a days is so fast moving that if something new is announced they need to release it asap. i think the only product that i think can announce something and release it months later and still sell i hate to say it but its apple. Their following of fanboys will keep it alive. In the tablet market where ios is the controller in the market any new announced tablet should be release i believe asap. This is why i waited on buying a tablet this around holiday season. I jumped the atrix for cellphone and look the atrix 2 is out already not even a year after its release.

i just bought the original two weeks ago or so. loving it and looking forward to returning to best buy for the new one with the six month deal they have going on. just wondering if anyone knows if the keyboard will be interchangeable with the new transformer?

Nothing has been said, but based on the video showing the new tablet and what looks like a new keyboard dock, I'd say no.

So from what I am seeing the major change will be speed. I am hoping the prices come down on the current version which should suit my purposes just fine. Do you think there will be price drops on the current version after the official announcement in November?

Well then your eyes need to be checked if that's the only major change that you see my friend ;)

What deal is that?

So are we all pretty much assuming this is just going to be announcement of release date or anyone thinking it might come out today? I am just hoping the date of arrival is not to far off in the near future.

Me too, but as long as it's out before Christmas I'll be fine. Gonna ask for this as a gift and get the keyboard dock as a gift to myself.
