Tried Nova launcher and went back to stock

I switched to nova years ago after apex had a glitch displaying the wallpaper, I'm still using it and I do not have TW disabled.
As others have stated, the gestures alone make nova worth it to me.

I've used Nova Launcher for years and the thing I like about it is I can back up the display settings file and make it consistent across devices.... However the TouchWiz which is now known as Samsung Experience 8.5 has won me over on the Note 8. While I miss some of the specialized swiping gestures from Nova, I find the notification badges are consistent and i love the Samsung Themes. You can back up all of your settings and display on the Samsung Cloud so I can wipe my phone and get it back to looking where it was before I reset.

Completely agree, the native Galaxy launcher added a few very decent features such as swipe Up and swipe Down motions.
What I like most about the Samsung themes, is that you can apply it for Overall themes, Wallpaper themes, Icon themes and AOD themes separately or mix them up if you prefer.

It's funny because I downloaded nova prime yesterday on my note 8 and then uninstalled it 10 minutes later. I just like the stock launcher better on this phone. Wish we could use the icon packs on it though.
You probably need to spend more than 10 minutes to fully appreciate what it has to offer. But if you're not into tweaking then touchwiz is probably the way to go.

I had Nova prime with all gestures for a week. It's good but does not feel as polished as TouchWiz.

Nope I have used Nova for years and I'm pretty familiar with it. About a week ago I tried using Nova again on my note 8 and finally got it the way I wanted it. So now I'm using Nova again. I still switch between that and the Samsung one though.

I've seen a lot of positive comments about TW on the Note 8 which I tried initially but I find it's inflexible for the icon layout, ever since the Z Ultra I liked to have a seven icon dock and 6x6 in the main app area. With the Note 8 being taller I've changed that to 8 high plus I like the fact Nova can back up the icon layout, I don't know if that's something that can be now though as it couldn't with the Note 4 and the stock launcher.
7 in the dock and 6 above??? That would drive me crazy. I have to have the same amount so they line up correctly. I usually stick to 5 and 5 since you gotta have an odd number in the dock if your using a app drawer button and you want it centered.

Nova launcher is mostly for people who like to create they own screen set-ups...and it takes time to learn..
spend few hours, or 10 to 30 minutes just to get things perfectly right.
for most people Touchwiz launcher is better, and Microsoft launcher is also good for average/normal users.

just use Samsung theme store, its a easy option for customising your phone.

Few years back people use Nova launcher because they OEM skin UI was crap and slow and ugly looking.
but things have changed now. Samsung skin UI has gone very good now.
