Trigger video with voice / remotely?

I know you can use "cheese" and similar words to trigger the camera to take a photo, but how can I do something similar to trigger the video recording?
I want to use it on a tripod to record video, but start it while in front of it.
Sure I could edit out the start where I walk back around in front of it, but that's going to be a pain that I shouldn't need to do.

Maybe there's some kind of app that can help even?

You can try with "OK Google actions". I think the command is "record video" or something like that. Take a look here.

Hm almost, but it doesn't look finished in that it doesn't actually start recording, it just opens your default camera app.
Confirmed searching Google that that's currently all it does.
