Trio Stealth Lite 4.3" 3D effect won't turn off for music

I just bought a Trio Stealth to use as an MP3 player at work, but when I plug in the headphones, it sounds like every song is in a concert hall (with REALLY bad acoustics)... I figured out how to get to the equalizer and I noticed the "3D effect" is on but what I can't figure out is how to turn it off. There's a slider for 3D effect and a slider for Bass Boost, but both are greyed out so I can't use them.
Like I said, I did just buy the thing so I can probably still return it if I have to but I's rather get it running right so I can use it...

I would see if you can load PowerAmp on the device. It is a paid app, but free for the first week or 2. That might help.
