Trouble accessing music in Music Player

I have a brand new S3 and for some reason I can't access most of my music via the Music Player app. When I make an alarm using the Clock app, I can set any song as my alarm tone (all the songs are there.) On the music player app, only the music of one artist is visible. Any idea why/how to fix this?

Alarms tones are in a different directory that is not searched for by the Music player. To get them into the Music player the files need to be copied to the Media folder. There are a few different folders. Notifications> sounds for Alarms, email, sms and other notification. Ringtones> ringtones for your contacts that can be set to individual preference and then Media> your music, pictures and videos. Now the media is split to separate the music from the pics and videos. These folders may be scattered around on the SD but the phone will put them all together in it respective app.
