Hi,

Bought Samsung Infuse yesterday. this is my first Smartphone and thus have no experience with Android OS.

I tried downloading Skype (8MB)through the Market App and it just seems to take forever. I did this while connecting a WiFi network. I am able to browse just fine, the speed is good.

I also tried downloading another app, lookout(2MB) and still the same result.A bar comes saying downloading and it stays there forever.

Is there a setting on the phone I need to have turned ON to enable the downloads. I already turned ON the Unknown sources option in the Application settings.

Would really appreciate any help and comments on the issue.

Thanks

Go to the market app and clear cache, then try downloading the apps again

Settings-->Applications--> Manage Applications-->All Applications--> Market

i do not use skype but as a test and was able to download and have the app installed in less than 10 seconds. on wifi i get around 18-22mbps on my home wifi with an N router.

Thanks for the response but my cache is already cleared. It does not have anything on it.

Am I missing something ? I am doubting the some setting as I am able to browse just fine but not able to download any app using the same Wi-Fi connection.

thanks for any inputs??

Try the above mentioned again but this time wipe cache/data and if the option is available uninstall updates.
then close and open the market a couple times and try again
