Trouble getting my Bluetooth to connect my phone book to my car, any suggestions?

trouble bluetoothing my phone book to my car

I have a Vauxhall mokka on a '64' plate and my old phone (Nokia) Bluetoothed okay, but now I have got a Samsung galaxy s6 edge+ and while I can receive call through the car, the car keeps saying 'phone book update failed'. Took car into Vauxhall and they said some phones have trouble bluetoothing. Tried deleting phone from car and car from phone and starting again but to no avail! Any suggestions?

Welcome to Android Central! When you first pair the phone, do you see anything on the phone or car display asking for your permission to share contacts? Also, after it's been paired, go to Settings>Bluetooth​, select the car system, and make sure Phone Contacts is checked on.

If I remember correctly, after they are paired there would be a dialog box pop up briefly on the phone asking to share contacts. Repair them again and make sure to keep an eye on your phone to see if that pops up.
