Hey guys. Im having a horrible time installing the new ics update.

Heres the issue

I am able to download the update no prob once it is done phone powers off and starts to install ics. Gets about 25% than a yellow triangle and the phone boots back to gb.

I was rooted and figured that was the issue maybe frozen apps since i didnt remove any bloat. Unroot went fine but still cannot get through the install. Also i have noticed that after i unrooted i cannot boot into recovery.

Not sure what else to do.

Thanks for any help.

Factory reset, that's what I did and then the update worked.

Thought of that. Is there a way to do it outside of recovery because for some reason i cant boot into recovery

Not sure, that's odd you can boot into recovery thou. You might have to take it to Verizon.

ICS won't install if your phone has been rooted, regardless if you unrooted prior to the update. You need to flash a clean stock rom with RSDlite. I had .902 on my laptop, so I flashed the stock rom, let the ota update to .905, then ota to .246. Tried the factory reset as well, but didn't work. Hope this helps.

It did for me. I lost root during the update, but Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper restored root. Titanium Backup complained about permissions but fixed them itself. I went from rooted under GB to rooted under ICS with only minor issues that were easily resolved.

I've downloaded updates while rooted u have to have stock radios though and update through cwm
