Trouble sending MMS when taking pictures in manual mode.

I started using manual mode on my camera. Seems to work well but I found that if I take pictures in manual mode, I have trouble sending pictures via text message. If I switch to auto mode, pictures go through no problem. I also found out that if I am in manual mode and I turn AE-L on (so the green line appears underneath it), the photos will send but if I turn it off I am unable to send the photos. Can anyone make sense of this? I am on AT&T with advanced messaging turned on.

The only thing I can suggest is to make sure you're sending the JPEG and not the RAW images. That could be the difference.

Beats me, as raw was the only thing I could think of too. I don't have this issue, and I use Handcent for texting.

When you share, are you initiating it from the gallery, from the MMS app, or from the camera app (I know you can do this in auto mode)? I wonder if that makes a difference for you.

I thought of that too. I tried starting the text from the messaging app and from the gallery and both fail if I have AE-L turned off when I take the pic. I do have a paid membership to handcent. I'll try from that app and see if that works. I was using it on my S7 Edge but when I got this phone, I started using the stock app. There are certain native functions that handcent doesn't perform that I like so that's why I switched back.
