troubleshoot text messaging displaying code/script when receiving emoticon

I have a samasung galaxy s5 and each time i recieve an emoticon from someone it is displayed as long code/script in the text message instead of the picture. please help!

HTC One M8. I'm having the same issue. For the week or two prior I've been getting duplicate text messages and text messages jumbled in order or some that are delivered 12 hours late. Anybody know a fix?

This happens to me on samsung galaxy s5 only in group text messaging and not just for the emojis. Just started this morning

Same thing with me, most group texts, all picture texts come out as coding. Just started this morning. Searched all over this is the only place I've found that others have the same issue. I tried downloading an SMS app and cleaning my cache partition. Neither has helped. :-( Galaxy S5
