Sorry for long prelude. Please read all of you can. Just trying to get my Mom what she wants and do it the right way because she is confused between Kindle Fire vs N7 vs any other tablet

My Mom has a Kindle reader with 3G long before Fire versions came out. . She loves it. She listened to my sister and now has Droid Inc 4G ( not my choice). She has been dying to get a tablet to use instead of computer or phone for emailing and other things that basically gives her a big phone screen without the phone. Sister convinced her to buy a Samsung Tab 2 but she came to senses and Returned minus restocking fee.
Her needs are for convenience only. She would love to have data on all the time but knows for me the additional cost factor for data and access fee.
Calls me last week, what about the Kindle Fire DX 7. I said hold off wait till I research and holidays have sales. Nope she impulse bought it next day because she was coming here for the holidays.
She has VZW Droid Inc 4G and now the Kindle Fire 7 DX. She wants to give her olden Kindle reader to my son which is irrelevant
I have VZW Samsung GS3 Andy lovable N7 32GB + 3G plus I bought a VZW Jetpack 4G on 2 yr contract.

Proposal
I want her to return the Kindle Fire (Wifi only) buy my N7 and I purchase a new N7. I want her to be able to use the N7 anytime she wants. If she knows she is traveling where there is no potential Wifi she can prepay to use AT&T or T-Mobile 3G on my current N7. She can return the Kindle Fire with no penalty since she got it within the holidays 90 return window for gifts. I don't like her stuck within Amazon Apps only and not be able to use any of Google Apps I rely on daily.

Am I crazy trying to get her essentially what she wants? I love nothing as I can buy a 32GB Wifi only N7 2013 because with the Jetpack I have no need for backup 3G.

Thoughts?

I understand your seemingly altruistic thoughts though perhaps you're projecting your wants on to your mother. Give it a bit. If Amazon's offering falls short display what android can provide. How invested is your mother in Amazon's ecosystem? Will she need to replace previously purchased content? You mentioned a seemingly basic use profile. I don't have first hand experience but from sparse readings I've formulated the faint picture that Amazon's system is generally more geared towards consumption. I know that songs are generally slightly cheaper than through Google. You should also consider familiarity.

In all there are a great many variables many of which I didn't address these should help start a decent consideration however.

The other thing to consider in that scenario is whether she's a Prime member, and checks books out via the Kindle Owner's Lending Library, whether she needs the additional help Amazon provides, and whether she wants to watch any Amazon videos/movies. For a lot of Amazon users, the Fire is exactly what they want/need. I started out with a Fire (first generation), but when the N7 came out, happily jumped to that., but I know a lot of other users who are thrilled with their Fire and don't want to customize.

give it to your mom. grown men don't sell things to their mom.

I wish....

She shreds my checks when I send her one even if to buy herself something. My original plan was to buy a new one for me and mail her mine. I tried giving her $ to fly here for Thanksgiving and she refused to come if I sent her a Delta credit
