Trying to decide on the Moto X but concerned about battery life or reliving a past experience

I found another setting that seems to help signal and battery life quite a bit. I have the Verizon Moto X and it was shipped with the Mobile Network defaulted to "Global". This can be changed under: Settings>More>Mobile Networks>Preferred Network Type>LTE/CDMA

After making this change I've noticed a stronger signal reception and enhanced battery life. Will let you know if this is true long term.

2013 X has the same settings. I'll try it out to see if I notice any differences in signal performance and battery for my OG X. Didn't think of trying that.

3 days in, this phone has PHENOMENAL battery life.
Yesterday, 10 1/2 hours, 5 1/2 hours screen on time. Pandora, chrome, texts calls etc. And I had the screen set at 70% brightness for most of that time.
Today, 14 1/2 hours currently, 38% battery, screen on time 3h 58m. Screen on auto all day.

Its been unreal. I have all the moto apps on. GPS set to high accuracy, no compromises.

Which carrier? Are you on WiFi or 4G majority of the day?

Edit: I see you are on WiFi and have great phone signal. That will make it last. I'm in poor signal area on VZW 4GLTE so my experience was good but not as good as yours sadly I am returning the phone for the DROID Turbo so I won't have to charge as often

I'm using a straight talk sim (at&t) currently. The coverage by me is great. I was about 60% WiFi, 40% LTE that day.

And I'm getting 13-18mbps download on straight talk lte
