I've got a Toshiba laptop and am trying to pair the Moto Droid to it. They see each other without a problem but the issue is the authentication between the two. Each device shows a 6 digit numeric code that do not match each other which is causing a failure. I can't change the code on either device and I'm stumped on how to proceed.

Windows 7 Home(32 bit) and a stock moto droid 2.1.

Suggestions?

Whichever device is being paired should ask for the code from the other device.

Correct but that doesn't happen

Windows says 'confirm this XXXXXX code is the device you're connecting to and the Droid issues it's own code. I am initiating the connection with the Droid and Windows7 never asks me for a code, only a confirmation hence the problem. The computer can't seem to initiate the connection and get it right either. I've tried both ways.

Bluetooth wireless technology is not immune from any issues although, for the most part, connectivity and security problems have been largely overcome.
