Just recently rooted my Dinc and now i am trying to restore it to how i had it before. But after doing the nandroid restore it stalls on the vzw logo portion of the bootscreen. My nandroid backup size was around 484MB, is that an average size. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stalls for how long?

I have 32 apps installed, and my nandroid backup folder is 318MB. I've never restored from nandroid backup...so the fact that I hear a restore is stalling, is a bit disconcerting. Have you tried doing a reset\battery pull? Maybe after reset\battery pull, if it's still not booting, try restoring again.

I got it to restore stock once after letting the phone sit for several minutes of rebooting itself. but none of my contacts or apps were restored.

Were your contacts and apps there when you made your initial nandroid backup? From what I understand, nandroid backups are basically like computer images. It is an exact replica of what your device looked like at the time of the backup.

Flashing ROMs, however, is typically different. For that reason, most folks use a 3rd party app like Titanium backup to restore apps and data.

yeah all of my contacts and everything was on the phone when i made my first backup, then b4 i flashed cm6 i used rom manager to make a backup. I also used titanium but that throws errors when trying to restore aswell. And sometimes when i go to advance restore via nandroid i can restore just the system but nothing else.

I've done more nandroid restores than i care to admit. I've never had the issue that you describe, although it sometimes takes a hair longer to boot the first time after a restore. My guess is that you have something wrong with the backup file. Hopefully you have more than one you can try.

could it be that there wasnt enough room on the sd card for everything.

No, I highly doubt that. Clockwork would have let you know before it made the backup or during the making of it. Here is another option for you. I made a 2.1 stock nandroid for people to use if they ever got into a sticky situation. I know it works because me and plenty of others have used it. Here is the link Stock Roms | Droid Fiend . What you're going to need to do with this is download the file, unzip it and take the backup and put it on your sd card in clockwork/backup folder. Then once it's in the clockwork/backup folder go into recovery and restore the backup like you would do if you made it yourself. This will bring you back to 2.1 stock rooted.

That's what I would do in that shape. Seems maybe your backup is getting a bit wonky. I've restored my stock nandroid backup multiple times playing around with ROMs etc and never had an issue. Did you try just waiting to see if it ever finished? Sometime all things aren't created equally.

How long should it take to restore stock with nandroid. With my Koush Cm6 rom it doesnt take anytime at all. With my stock one i let sit on the charger for an hour or so but all it did was show the boot animation over and over.
