I just bought this watch and it has been stuck on the syncing screen forever. I have a galaxy s7, what is going on? Does it normally take long?

I assume your referring to a Android Wear watch, but unfortunately it can take a while depending on how many apps and updates there are... I've seen them take up to 30 minutes.

The good news is you only have to do that once on initial setup.

I'd just wait a little bit and if it's still on the syncing screen, try to swipe it away. Best of luck.

Well yeah I'm in asus zenwatch forum lol. It's been almost a half hour, I will report back. I noticed it says syncing but on my phone it isn't physically connected, it shows paired but not connected so how is it syncing then?

Finally worked! How do I get rid of the annoying "ok Google" on the watch face

Say OK Google a few times and it should remove itself.

If not, actually say "remove ok Google" to the watch.
Great, that worked. I'm not receiving SMS notifications. I have mysms on my s7. Also I received hangout messages for two min and now I'm not receiving those either. Weird

Hangouts is definitely supported by Android Wear (as are most Google apps), however I'm not sure if mysms is. If it's not supported, you should still get notifications, but most likely will not be able to reply or act on them directly from the watch.

If notifications aren't working, try rebooting the watch and the phone... believe it or not sometimes the connection just needs a reboot.

You rock. That worked... And mysms does let you respond.

Last issue, my steps are not counting with the wellness app

If your referring to the wellness app on the Asus ZenWatch, try saying "show me my steps" to the watch and select "wellness" if it asks you what app to use to complete this action.

If that doesn't work, make sure your watch is connected in the wellness app on your phone... you did download the wellness app from the Play store on your phone, right? 😁 https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...s/details?id=com.asus.wellness&token=q4V-lIpI

The reboot I did before did the trick

Which wellness app? I installed Android Wear and the Fit app on my phone and got steps. Then installed the Move It! app to pester me when I didn't move (often) enough. Everything just worked. (You have to ok some permissions.)

It's the wellness app that came with the watch.

Hey so my next question is why when I initially turn my watch face on or when it automatically comes on does it have a outlined face design, then it turns over to my full color face design?

TL;DR - That behavior is pretty much normal for Android Wear and there is nothing "wrong" with your watch.

Longer explanation as to what is actually happening here...

I take it you don't leave your watch face "always on"? That outlined (kinda low-res) version of your watch face is what Android Wear calls "Ambient mode"... this mode is engaged to save power when the watch is idle. If you leave the watch face "Always on", this ambient mode version is what you would see most of the time.

Now, onto your question... when you wake up your watch, it is being woken up from ambient mode and this is why that outlined watch shows for a moment until it changes over to the full color interaction mode (when your directly using the watch). Typically, this ambient mode version will be shown for only a brief moment before switching over to the full color version., However, I have noticed that the delay between wake up -> ambient -> full color seems to be slightly different from Android Wear model to model. In other words, that slight delay seems ever so slightly different on my Sony SmartWatch 3 than it does on my LG Urbane or ZenWatch 2.

Interesting, thanks for the explanation. I actually shut off always on because I noticed the ambient mode was more predominant. I wonder if it really does conserve battery by doing that. It was weird because I had a different watch face the other day and now that I switched to a new one I noticed it is happening mode frequently than it did on the other watch face. It does seem a little slow switching over from ambient to the normal face
