Turn by Turn Direction below Odometer ??

[Android Central Question]

The turn by turn nav below odometer stopped working by itself. I have tried the following:
- Restarted my phone
- made sure i have the updated version of android auto and google maps
- on the audio control panel i went back to factory settings
- on the audio control panel, i went to vehicle setting > meter setup > turn by turn auto display - changed settings to off and then on
- also installed waze nav service to make sure the problem was not with google maps
Nothing worked.
