Turn off FB notifications

Settings>Applications>Application Manager, Scroll to Facebook and unselect the check box for Show Notifications.

You can also adjust your notification settings in the FB app itself. This will allow you to choose what you want to receive notifications for and what you don't. I have mine set to only notify me for a few specific reasons.

Turning the FB notifications off through your phone settings will stop all notifications completely.

Oh, how I hated getting beeped and booped to have my phone announce, "it's Howard Dingledangle's birthday," especially since I have no idea who Howard Dingledangle is. Or, ding! Laura Liverlover changed her profile! It was too much, too much. Oh, no, even as I was writing this, I was informed that Bernie Blubberbutter (not the real name) changed his status. So help me, God. I thought I had turned off my motifications.
