Turn phone into boot device

Is it possible to turn a phone (I have the HTC Hero) into a boot device for the computer? I have been able to boot to USB drives. I was hoping there was a way to do that either to the SD card in the phone or to the phone itself through the USB cable. I know that with the phone itself might be hard to boot to because of the drivers. Thanks
