I been one complaining and did my second reset and didn't install every single app and so far I went from "battery lasts about 11 hours" to "16-20 hours" adjusts based on my usage. But big difference so I think I had an app screwing me over. I was averaging 2.5-3 hrs the most and I've already pulled a 4.5-5.5 screen on time thank God.
I do the same thing when I'm at work with my phone on the desk. Saves quite a bit of battery for me, too. I don't seem to remember ambient display using so much battery on the original Pixel or Pixel 2.All righty so what I've been doing is I turned off flip to shush mode And when my phone is on any kind of a flat surface, I flipped The screen over so the back is facing up which makes a sensor turn off my always on ambient display. notifications and then when I put my phone over, my Ambien to display automatically turns back on. I've noticed so far within the past day or so, that this saves quite a bit of battery power shockingly.
Yep yep. I'm actually astonish, and surprised that always on ambient display uses that much battery. At first I didn't believe it or want to believe it. But, I will include my battery stats and it's just utterly amazing. I leave my phone face down on my desk, at home on my couch, or in bed on my bed. Basically on any flat surface. Even at the gym on the rubberized floor mats. I still get my notifications audibly alerting me flipping my phone over and ambient display automatically kicks in and I can visually see exactly what I need to turn my attention to. I can't believe this feature works that well! I've never turned my phone face over in the past until now... Tell me what you think.I do the same thing when I'm at work with my phone on the desk. Pretty cool. For you to receive alerts his sound when your phone is faced down I'm assuming you have flip to shhh disabled or else you wouldn't receive sound alerts since flip to shhh muted all notifications by temporary enabling do not disturb.Yep yep. yep yep correct Sir! Now, at first, I was a little hesitant to disable flip to shush mode. But then I thought about the reasoning/logic behind it and it makes perfect sense. Flip the phone over does not go on do not disturb mode, still get all your audible notifications, sensor kicks off always on Ambient display. Flip the phone over to check notifications and Ambient display automatically turns on I can swipe away notifications I could care less about or just see any important notifications or continue going back to work. Once you get used to it it works out pretty well. I really forced myself to turn off always on ambient display like I mentioned before. However, that just disables one of the most important phone features to me. I don't want to have to highlight my lock screen just to see notifications.Pretty cool.
