Turning Digital Wellbeing Off

Turned mine off. Don't use it so why would I leave it on logging things in the background. I won't ever look at it.
But if you turn it back one it still had 10 days of insights do it still records at least 10 days.

Now comment did you just disable your digital being or turn it off completely in disabled? How are you getting 2 days plus on your pixel three? I am getting a solid dayAnd half from 100% battery to dead battery and I do charge it in the car for Android Auto and sometimes at nighttime before I go to sleep but that's about it. I will say that I have excellent battery life on my phone.

A. I turned off everything related to "Digital Well-Being" that I could find. One option under Digital Well-Being/Dashboard is "Turn Usage On" which I suppose means it's turned off.
B. As for battery time, you reminded me of being married. When I worked a lot my wife complained I wasn't around to do things for her and when I didn't work so much she complained she didn't have enough money to spend. I get much longer battery time on a charge than my nephews who are addicted to social media, games, streaming music and videos. They can't make it through a day. I get 2.5 days but I recharge when I'm getting ready for bed and power off the phone at night. Next morning, I start off fresh. Well, my phone starts off fresh. I'm old enough I don't do fresh. I do a fair amount of text messaging, I accept no phone calls--I'm mostly deaf--and I take a lot of photos. That's why I have a Pixel 3. I read the news some days, check the weather, run my calendar and my lists, and use my two dictionaries quite a bit. Oh, and GMail, of course.

Yeah I don't use social media a whole lot. How much screen on time do you get?

I've never been motivated to check. I just checked, after I discovered it wasn't under "Display", and since 4 a.m., it's now 9 a.m., I have 19 minutes.

I use social media for work. I typically use my phone the most during work hours and when I get off, that's when it's in my pocket for the rest of the day.. so I can spend time with my wife. That's why I rarely charge my phone everyday. My stats say it lasts for 15 hours but that's only changed since joining the Q beta, while I'm still getting around 22 hours on my battery all in all

See look at my usage the Google app is the highest and it must be when I use the Google news feed when u swipe to the left. I use that often but I still feel like the battery is terrible. 11.5 hrs it usually lasts and that # has been like that for a long time. Yours was around 15+ which was more what I used to see before j upgraded to Q.

The cell signal doesn't look great there, which could contribute to battery drain. Is it any better if you're in an area with strong signal? Or maybe if you're home, turn on Airplane Mode and then turn wi-fi on?

But does the cell signal matter if I'm on my home wifi? I mean on Google Fi you can make calls and use data on WiFi so I'm wondering if it matters. I work from home so haven't really notice when I'm out since I spend most of my day at home. I'll have to try and test. I reset my phone to factory and didn't install every single app I typically install and so far the stats are way better. Going to stay this way for a few days then install soos gradually one at a time to see if it maybe is an app draining my battery. I would of expect it to show up under the battery usage and nothing looked weird so I'm not sure.

It absolutely can. Even if you're relying on wi-fi, the phone will still be trying to get a cell signal, as long as the radio is on. I encounter this at the hospital where I work -- terrible cell signal, and so my phone typically runs down much more quickly there than on any off day outside the hospital. I experimented with turning on Airplane Mode and then turning on wi-fi, since I could use wi-fi calling, and that did help with battery drain -- but the hospital's wi-fi network is also pretty bad, so I found myself dropping calls more often when I neared a wi-fi deadzone in the hospital.:-\

Oh damn that sucks. Maybe I'll test it out with airplane mode on. Thanks for sharing.

Would just turning off Mobile date work?

I haven't tried that, but I think there would still be drain, because the cell radio would still be on and trying to get signal for voice. Maybe not as much as if mobile data were on, though.

I still have it off but I don't think I'm noticing any different on Android Q beta 3.

I think over the last few days I've noticed a slight improvement in battery life since turning off digital well being....... but we're only talking a few percent. Otherwise my phone seems to be working the same as before, smooth and fast with no problems. I'm not running any third party apps though either, my phones bone stock with all default settings. I suspect folks who notice a big change in their phone after turning digital well being off probably have a lot more going on on their phone than I do ;-)

Yeah same goes for me as well.

Turning off Digital Wellbeing has made no difference on my Pixel 3, not that I had any performance issues before. I do have battery problems that I hoped having it off might have fixed but still barely getting 2 hours screen-on time. Has anyone seen any improvement with the Q beta..?

Best thing you could do is a factory reset . 2 hours screen time tells me you have a bad app.
I would reset and set up as new and go from there .

Even my sons pixel 1 will still get better than that .
