Turning sound off

Newbie here.... and I just got my Maxx yesterday , coming up from a Droid RAZR.

I can't seem to find a way to turn the sound off - other than of course using the volume buttons. But the RAZR has a feature you could just slide to turn off the sound, like when in a doctors office or whatever, then slide it all back on after leaving.

Is there such a thing on the maxx ???

I'm not sure of a stock feature, but I've always used Simple Sound Profile Widget on all of my android devices. You set up sound profiles and put the widget on the homescreen and it's a simple two clicks to change between different profiles.

Press the power button, you can set it to to silent on the pop up.
