Twist Gesture with Google Camera?

I found a somewhat complicated way to get the desired result. If you set your gallery app preference to open the Google camera, you can shake to get into camera (Motorola Stock one), then swipe left to view last picture, then tap the "back arrow" to go into the google gallery app which has a camera shortcut button. Tap that and you go into the Google camera (since you designated it as the default camera app for the gallery to follow). Not as quick with the flick of the wrist but if you want to do a photosphere or take manual exposure shots sort of quickly it works. I know you could just put the app on a home screen but what if your screens are full?! It'd be cool if moto expanded the shake to camera to be a chooseable item so we could just choose the google camera as the default for shake to cam.

Here's a different but related questions. Say I am OK taking photos with the stock Moto X camera app. However, when I am reviewing the shots, I'd like to tap the pencil icon and launch the Google Photos Editor instead of the stock editor. Possible?

Figured it out..

Go to apps in the settings and clear defaults if the stock gallery app. Next time you swipe to review a shot from the Moto X camera, it will ask you what app to use. I chose to make the Google Photos app the default.

Hope this helps someone else

Re: New Google Camera-vs-Stock Camera

Wow, Google Camera is so cool I don't care that it doesn't have the wrist gesture.

I'm with you. I actually use a mixture of both Google Camera and Motorola's Camera. If I need to take a picture very quickly I will twist my wrist for moto camera. Any other time I am taking a picture it's with Google camera. Google's software is much better than Motorola's.

Re: New Google Camera-vs-Stock Camera

Nothing great about it. Doesn't even support HDR on Moto X, which makes it pointless. HDR is the only mode that kinda saves crappy Moto X camera quality

No. There's no HDR support. I tried comparing and the stock is better

HDR works fine with Google Camera on the moto X. I use it all the time.

Yes I was really trying to figure out that same thing. I like the Google camera way better than the default android one. I have a moto g.
Does anyone know how to switch the new Google camera to the default camera on the X. I could not find any settings to make the switch.

Thanx in advance

How do you turn off that setting? I can't find it anywhere. When my Nexus 6 is in my pocket the camera is constantly being activated and overheats my battery extremely as well as taking about 100 photos. I have only seen the info to turn the feature on.
