Twitter apps and notification problem

So I use Seesmic. I like the interface. However, notifications come through very slow. I get notifications on replies or DM's about an hour after they're posted! Is this just related to Seesmic or do other Twitter apps deliver notifications sooner? An hour delay is unacceptable.

it seems most twitter apps are like tht. the best is twidroid, but even that messes up notifications for me from time to time. i had seesmic, and liked it, but not as much as twidroid. now, i use this new tweetcaster app, and i love it. it's my new favorite. and still, notifications are messed up a bit.

Well that's depressing and defeats the purpose. Someone sends me a DM I'd kinda like to know about it, especially if it's something that requires a timely response.

I've never had that issue with any Twitter I've used on Android. I set mine notification check for every 10 minutes and it works flawlessly. Seesmic, Twidroid, Tweetcaster, etc... all work fine.

While I have no issue with Twidroid notifications at all, Twitter itself can be set from the website to send you a text message when you receive a DM. If your notifications are not working, perhaps you should change this setting?

Same here. I set my twitter apps to refresh every 5 minutes and it works great for me.

I found Seesmic's notifications interval setting and changed it to 10 minute refresh. We'll see if that makes a difference.
