Two months on is it worth purchasing?

really happy so far with GS3 Classic, like activity tracking and ability to control music, dismiss and reply to notifications, use timers, etc without touching phone. well thought out device and battery life is acceptable with always on display. ability to change watch straps easily for workouts or dressing up makes it a double duty device.

I really really like being able to take a call with my hands full and phone in pocket. Came in handy this weekend when I was dealing with my son and my wife called. I didn't even think, just answered on my wrist and talked while continuing doing what I was doing. Very awesome.

Now if I could just find a watch face that provides the info I want and that I like the looks of... Not thrilled with the choices honestly.

You're not cheap. You just bought a $350 watch. The watch faces should all be free considering how much we paid for the device.

I get this for the faces that might originate with Samsung, but anyone else who makes one doesn't get any of your $350. Something for nothing is nice but not really a good long term economic model. Just sayin'.

I used to be stingy about buying apps, but upon reflection I realized most of them cost less than a 7 Eleven Slurpie (something I routinely buy on impulse) and gives only a few minutes of pleasure. An app will likely provide me utility that will last indefinitely and is helping support some dude who put in hundreds of hours of labor.

This is the way I feel about it. I support developers who are trying to bring us more apps by purchasing & leaving good feedback. I can't really complain about spending $1 or $2 on an app then turn around & spend hundreds of dollars for accessories on my phone, car, home, etc.. Plus I want the developers to continue to be inspired to come up with more apps so I make sure I purchase the app to show my appreciation for their time & work. We can't expect people to do this for free.

I don't think I can live without my Gear S3. It just so convenient particularly that its LTE, works with using one number from your phone (Digit), Spotify and notification right in your arm. Personally I don't like notification with sound so wrist notification is perfect for me. No buyer's remorse here.

I had the Frontier for a month until last week, but have gone back to my Huawei Watch.

I really like the HW, but the Frontier looked amazing, and I was intrigued by Tizen and the rotating bezel. I also love BIG watches. But, in the end, it just didn't fit my needs as well as Android Wear. The bezel is great, but I can do so much more 'hands-free' with AW - and when it's chucking it down, and I'm walking my son home from the childminder in a buggy, and I want to check/dismiss/look at messages without needing to stop and scroll about or push buttons, the Gear S3 just couldn't cut it like the HW.

I was also a little handicapped by not having a Sammy phone, so I couldn't dictate a text (only works with Samsung Handsets, it seems, which is a bit 'Apple' of them), the UK still doesn't have Samsung pay, nor does it have the LTE variant.

It's a shame, as the form factor was perfect, and I much prefer the actual UI, but only if I'm sitting at home and scrolling about. Out and about, when a smartwatch really comes into it's own for me, the S3 just couldn't live with Android Wear.

And that's before I mention the dearth of apps...

Im a big fan of the 'Classic' version. Just looks more sleek to me. The Frontier looks quite bulky and not really a fan of that.
With regards to S Health - i think it woks quite well then it's tracking distance and time or pace of your running / cycling. Since thats just using GPS. But when it gives you calories burnt or used thats just an pure estimate based on preinstalled averages and numbers. Everyone is different and there is no ways it can tell you exactly. As others have said, get the LTE version if you can. Well worth the extra. I would says its a good purchase. :)
