Now don't get me wrong, this Droid Incredible 2 is awesome, but I just came from a Blackberry Curve and I am beyond clueless when it comes to a couple of things. I am usually pretty tech-savvy but right now I feel like an old man.

My first problem is properly setting up my phone to work with my computer. I hooked the USB cable into my laptop and selected the "Connect to PC" option. This is what came up on the phone:

  • Charge Only
  • HTC Sync
  • Disk Drive
  • Internet Connection Mode
  • Media Sync
  • Internet Pass-Through

I chose the "Disk Drive" option because I wasn't sure what I was doing and the phone tried to download a driver and it failed. Then nothing happened so I just disconnected the phone from the computer. That's my main issue because I want to properly store my contacts on my computer. Was my phone supposed to come with a CD or something to load a program onto my computer or am I just missing something in the instruction booklet?

The second issue that I'm having is I can't figure out how the hell to use notification sounds other than the ones that come with the phone. I'm tired of the weird little noises that the phone comes with and want to have a song I like play when I get a text message. I made a ringtone on Myxer.com and sent it to my phone but the phone only let me use that file as a ringtone. How can I have a song play when I receive a text?

Any help or input would be much appreciated. Thank you.

When you chose disk drive, your computer should have picked up your SD card and added it as drive in "My Computer", you should then be able to use the HTC Sync software on the card to install and sync the computer with your phone. Or download the software from here: HTC Incredible S - Software Download

For your ringtones, once you are able to access your SD card on your computer, put your files that you want to use into folders on the card, "Ringtones" and "Notifications" and "Alarms"

Hope that helps :)
