Been running team win recovery from the ls670 forums made to work on the optimus s by the kraven. So far every function works on the v but I would have to say hands down its the best recovery out right now. Any other comments/qualms?

I haven't tried it yet..... I've been using clockwork mod touch recovery for a long time though to me its the best, its easy to use, it flashes anything I want, and I have never messed my phone up using it. But I might switch to it soon if its really good :)

Have you tried formatting your SD card with it yet? It gave me some problems. Overall, I don't like it. I prefer the layout of CWM-based recoveries, and those seem to have more (or more easily accessible) options.

Yeah I did use it to format after I accidentally formatted my SD ext in my girlfriends phone. I only reformatted an existing partition though. Not create a new one. As far as ease of use it blows cwm out of the water in my opinion. Just the option of naming your nandroid makes this superior to any cwm. PS I too used drews cwmt for 2 months +. It did work but its pretty much the same as any other cwm. As far as "touch" recoveries go twrp is really the only recovery that has touch functions. Why even have touch just to arrow up or arrow down like cwm anyway?

Once you try it john2 you probably won't go back lol.

It's ok, I still prefer CWM because I've used it for so long and it plays nicely with Aroma.

Plus its a great experience and much faster to select options while your in recovery! Instead of scrolling down one by one, just click on it!! And yes I agree with you about using a proven, reliable recovery! But remember all great things start from the bottom and just keep on growing ,getting better, just like the OV! Now with JB :)

TWRP recovery is the best recovery imo. Used to be CWM set the standard now it's the other way around.

Does the app GOO.IM flash the right recovery for the OV or do I have to get it from the LS670 thread?

The ls670 thread has a zip flashable from the recovery you are already on. Don't know about the goo.

I actually still have Cannibal Open Touch 1.2 recovery on my OV but use TWRP on my TF-101, G-nex i515, and Nexus 7 which it works great on all three. I will go check out the sprint thread and see if I can find the .zip.
