I am on Sprint but I travel to buildings for work. I don't have any Sprint service but I have Wi-Fi. How do I send and receive txt messages with zero signal? Is there any apps that will port in my number? I need to be able to text colleagues

Most people will use an app like Allo for this situation. Allo does send to SMS and it still shows your existing phone number. If the person on the other end installs Allo, then you get all the advanced features.

To check it out, go to https://allo.google.com and take a look! As an Android user, it's now my messaging app of choice.

If your phone and carrier support wifi-calling, you can also text SMS with it, assuming the buildings you are in have wifi available to you.
