Typing status/✔ next to message

I noticed today while texting the wife that my text had two check marks next to it? Is this a new feature cause I didn't notice it until after she updated her V10. Will it be like the iPhone now where it shows when people read it?

If her phone and carrier supports (and has activated) Advanced Messaging, then yeah, now texts can show delivery and read status. And for what it's worth, iMessage got those from other messaging systems, like BBM before it. #justsayin

If that's the case, it can be deactivated if she doesn't want these to appear for her messages.

Oh no it's fine I like the feature since we both have the V10. I didn't imessage came from something else thanks

In that case, yeah, you can have that as long as both sender and recipients support Advanced Messaging. Not all carriers are on board yet, and definitely not all phones, but if you both have V10s on the same network, you should be good.
