Ubuntu on Google TV box

I have had my Sony Google TV box for about a year and love it, but my roommate has a media PC with Ubuntu on it. It seems to be a lot better with streaming media over the network and browsing Internet and whatnot. It got me wondering if anybody has ever tried to flash some other types of Linux on it and had any success?


Or at least anybody have any luck getting the bootloader unlocked?

Oh, wow, I had completely forgotten about this thread. Unfortunately, I was never able to find anything on it. I began asking right as Ubuntu began teasing Ubuntu phone and TV builds, but there hasn't been anything released that I know of. I just caved and used an old PC for running Ubuntu. Hopefully Android TV that may be coming out pretty soon will have some better luck with hack-ability.

what box are you using for Google TV? Have you had any luck with YouTube and Prime Time TV?
