Great update on my Verizon Note 20 Ultra. So buggy and slow. Apps stopped working. Had to do a factory reset and reset my watch as well. Garbage. How do I roll back to 2.5?

You can't. Well, you could go buy a new phone and not update it, but that's temporary as the update will be forced eventually

Yep don't think there is anyway to permanently turn off and still get security updates.

Sure, and I don't recommend it. But the OP wants to do it and asked how. You answered that it can't be done. But it can.
I answered for most save I didn't suggest the other because I don't do it and didn't want to talk him thru it. Yes you are correct, but it isn't without risks for the average person with no knowledge. I do not suggest things I have no knowledge on and can create issues for someone if they don't have the know how. I figured someone else would do that and I was correct.

So yes it's possible, but not thru the normal way of updating that will be backed by samsung.

Yes, neither of us suggested reverting to 2.5. But answering that it can't be done isn't the same as saying "You can do it, but I recommend against it". We can make whatever recommendations we want, but we shouldn't give out false information (even if we figure someone else will correct it).

Well now he knows

A Custom Rom is an option but I agree the person doing this needs to learn about what also to do if it goes wrong.

xdadevelopers.com is a good site to learn.

Samsung will put firmware right if a Custom Rom goes wrong but could levy a fee to do so.

If enough people give feedback about the issues they are facing via the Samsung Members App then maybe they'll push out bug updates.

Since the new update my Note 20 ultra picture quality has been awesome. Plus it seems like my overall screen quality has improved as well.
My daughter has the S20 Ultra and she called me and told me the same thing after using the phone a few days later.
I'm super happy with the update.

I freaked when i installed the update, everything stopped working. I did every reset available (3 total) and set up my phone all over again and now everything is great except I'm still not getting the spruced up features in messages because Verizon is being Verizon so it'll take a while.
But otherwise no issues.

Sure you can. The bootloader version didn't change with the update, so nothing prevents you from flashing a previous firmware version if you really want to.

And you will never get any more security updates, correct.

I'm not sure why you're having issues but I can assure you most of us are not experiencing what you describe. I found a few bugs during the beta but those were all addressed. There may be a couple of bugs that pop up here and there but nothing any more severe than prior releases. Nothing that impacts speed on my S20U or Note 20U.
