UK Backordered Thread

I hope we can expect some more stock in the UK soon if the US have had some and also the back-orders seem to be slowly trickling out.
 
My wifes a b*tch by the way, it's being delivered to her work and she just rang me, sounding all chirpy and excited......and said "Guess what babe?", so I asked what, and she replied :

"It's still not here yet...........BYEEEEEE"

And hung up. I'll have to throw her round the room for half hour later on as punishment lol :)

No shipping email, google.com/play still says pending ... phone on my desk (no bumper, but who cares).

This is clearly frustrating.

I made the mistake of leaving it half an hour before trying to order, to find it had closed to orders.

The system message earlier this week seemed to suggest ordering was possible but the system was overloaded. Turns out that was for the US only.
Google do not seem to have a handle on how to communicate to potential customers at all and are not considering their expectations.

Some news, even if not good is better than none - how many times do you want to check and read out of stock before going elsewhere for a competitors product?
There was a notify me when in stock option, but that has gone.

This is what I'm worried about, I can make arrangements if I know it's coming. But if I don't, and I'm out, what will they do with it? Nearest depot is over an hours drive away.
 
Does anyone have a contact inside of Google that might be able to find out if we're ever going to get the 'pre-order' behaviour in the non-US stores that we're seeing in the US store now? I'd really prefer to at least be able to 'get in line' than the way it is now with just a 'Sold Out'...

I'm getting very sick of the refreshing (automatically or manually) to see if it's changed at all.

At least if the order was placed then it should just happen, eventually...

It arrived, I wasn't in. It's at the depot, which is an hour away.
It'll be redelivered tomorrow, between 8 & 5. I won't be in.
This is because I work. They won't leave it without a signature. What can I do?
 
TNT should be ok to leave it with a neighbour (if there's a trustworthy one). I had the same delivery issue with a replacement N7. Left a note on my front door to say could they leave it with a neighbour, which they did, with a card through the door to say which one.

Just wish Google could hurry up the restock of the N4... :-\

Will they re-direct to your work place? Sometimes such logistics companies will.

Alternatively you'd need to request a neighbour to take it in maybe? If possible...

Wonder if this bumper I also ordered is what's perhaps holding it up ...

Hi neighbour just called and handed me my 8gb nexus 4. No shipping email,order says processing and no bumper. Driver never left a card to say delivered today.looks like bumper out of stock and will follow later. Worth the wait very impressed with phone.
 
Called and spoke to TNT, the guy gave me two options, pick it up or re deliver to the same address. Under Google's orders. I tried to rearrange on the internet, with 'please leave in shed' as my special instructions. Got a very quick email saying that Google's instructions with this delivery means my special instructions cannot be done. Delivery window is 8am - 6pm. If I call after 7 they may be able to give me a two hour delivery window.
The nearest depot is 80mins drive away, if I go pick it up, is that even really classed as a 'delivery'? I call that shopping!

So they are not sold out but everyone is waiting for a bumper or they are but the google employee does not know???
Any answer being true is...lame.

Let me give some ''info''.
Ordered a bumper on the 15th, the site was showing on stock (obviously).
My google wallet showed the order as ''pending''.
Emailed google on the 21st.
On the 22nd i get this reply:
Hi .....,

Thank you for contacting Google Play support.
"Within 3 weeks" is the only guidance I can provide at this time. I?ll only know the scheduled delivery date when you receive an email notification that your order has shipped.

This is just a joke.
I ask WHEN is ''shortly'' and they answer to me something completely different which is that orders are delivered based on the order in which they were received (which is NOT the case but I can not explain that, considering that they are not even able to answer a simple question).

And yes...still waiting for that ''shortly'' to end.
 
My bumper turned up today unannounced

Still no shipping notification for either the phone or bumper, both of which I now have. Google.com/play still says 'Pending'. Lucky I work form home, really ...

Seems that I've not even been charged for the phone yet and I've had it a week ... /status still says "pending".
